Sodom is a German thrash metal band formed in 1982. Along with Kreator and Destruction, Sodom are considered one of the "big three" of Teutonic thrash metal.

While the other two big German thrash metal bands created a sound that would later influence death metal, Sodom's music style would later greatly influence many black metal bands, among others, that would form in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
